Costa Rica » Getting to San Jose San Jose is 10 hours flying time from London. By Air
Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport formerly known as Liberia International Airport, is one of the international airports in Costa Rica. The airport is located in the city of Liberia in Guanacaste Province. It serves as a hub for the affluent tourism that visits Costa Rica's Pacific coast.
TobÃas Bolaños International is in the San Jose suburb of Pavas, about 5km west of city center. It serves as the main airport for domestic flights and handles only two scheduled international flights to Granada, Nicaragua and Bocas del Toro, Panama. By TrainRailroads in Costa Rica are owned by Incofer (Instituto Costarricense de Ferrocarriles). In 2006, Incofer operates suburban commuter trains from San Jose to San Pedro, Universidad Latina (4 km East) and to Pavas (6 km West), plus freight trains San Jose - Caldera (Pacific port, 91 km). Private company - AmericaTravel - organizes weekend tourist trains (The Tico Train Tour) from San Jose to Caldera. As of 2006, the following trains run in Costa Rica: Tico Train Tour San Jose - Caldera (91 km), weekend tourist trains, privately managed using infrastructure of Incofer. Commuter trains San Jose - San Pedro, Universidad Latina (4 km, Incofer). Commuter trains San Jose - Pavas (6 km along the same line as Tico Train Tour, Incofer). Freight trains San Jose - Caldera (Incofer).
