Renting accommodation in Bahrain is a straightforward, well-established practice. Major international companies with trading links in the region often have housing arrangements in the form of long-term leases on properties for their staff. If you have to find your own accommodation, your sponsor and his staff will invariably help. There’s considerable choice in all price bands and it’s usually quite straightforward to find the type of property you want. 

There’s a wide range of apartments and villas available in Bahrain, both within and outside enclosed compounds, but it should be noted from the outset that expatriates cannot own land or property in Bahrain and therefore you will have no choice but to rent.

Most visitors are pleasantly surprised when they see the cities of Bahrain for the first time, their modern architecture co-existing with traditional houses and ancient wind-towers. New buildings are often spectacular, as oil has provided the money for the best architects, builders and materials.

Type of Accommodation with respect to Monthly Rents.

• For 1 bedroom apartment, the rent is between  750–1,000 (est.)

• For 2 bedroom apartment, the rent is between 1,000–1,500 (est.)

• For 3 bedroom apartment, the rent is between 1,500–1,800 (est.)

• For 2/3 bedroom villa, the rent is between 1,800–2,250 (est.)

• For 4+ bedroom villa, the rent is 2,250+ (est.)
