The weather of Northern regions strongly differs from rest of the India due to the snowfall in the winters. Indian Climate is strongly affected by the Himalayan Regions in the North and Thar Desert in the West. The Himalayas and Hindu Kush mountains in Pakistan prove to be a barrier against the cold winds of Central Asia, thus imparting a much warmer weather as compared to other regions with same latitude.

In most of the Indian states, the coolest months are from November to March, hottest are from April to June. The monsoon rains are prevalent from mid-July-September.
