Visa/Residency Issues
Foreigners visiting Tunisia require a passport that is valid for 3 months and the evidence of a return ticket. British, Canadian, Japanese, Australian, USA and nationals of other EU countries do not require visas for stays of up to three months but passports valid for six months after return date are required. Citizens of US also do not require a visa for visit till 4 months. A visit longer than that would require a visa in Tunisia. As for Australians and South Africans, who require a Tunisian visa can get it on arrival. Short stay visa in Tunisia is for a period of 3 months, while a Tunisian transit visa is valid for three days. Tunisia visas are of two types depending on the nature of the visit it can be either Tourist Visa or Business visa.
Tourist visa requires a valid passport with 6 months of validity at least, an application form filled and signed, copy of Green card or any registration card, passport size photograph along with a copy of air ticket showing the roundtrip transportation.
For business visa in Tunisia along with the above mentioned requirements a letter explaining the purpose of visit and enough finances to support the visit has to be shown.
